Recession? What Recession? Black Hair Business Still Growing!

In the last year alone we have seen high-street stores such as Jane Norman, Habitat and Thorntons close down because of the economy, but guess what – the black hair business has still been growing!

According to a report by BlackNews2, while people have had to lay off staff or close down premises – black hairdressers and barbers have grown by around eight per cent from 2008 to 2009 in the US.

Director of the National Association of Barber Boards of America, Charles Kirkpatrick, has said: “We don’t have to worry about someone flying to China to get their hair cut. Barbering is not going away.”

It looks as if getting your hair done is one of the last thing that people want to sacrifice.

Are you surprised by the report? Is getting your hair done really important to you?
